Motorway and Skid Pan Training.

After passing the driving test the next step should be the consideration of improving your driving skills. This can be done by taking some extra courses at a reasonable cost initially with then the benefit of an annual insurance reduction at the time of taking out the car insurance premium! There are two particular courses which will guarantee that the pupil would gain more road sense and experience.

1 The Pass Plus Scheme includes town and country driving including rural roads.Also night driving and all weather driving along with dual carriageway work. This opens up the opportunity to drive on a motorway; something a 'learner driver' is not permitted to do.

2 The Advanced Driving Scheme is similiar to the Pass Plus but also includes the following:

i A Police demonstration drive picking up useful information on how to be a better driver.

ii An hour length driving test to drive to advanced level.

iii A chance to test your driving skills at the skid control centre at the Goodwood Racing Track. I am a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and can guarantee that this course is extremely useful on how to deal with today's roads.

Although not compulsory these two courses are highly recommended to gain more confidence on the road as well as the experience.
